What to include in an enquiry

If you suspect urgent water ingress, use urgent request guidance and include safe internal photos (no roof access required).

Core services (repair-first)

Choose a service to see what’s included, typical causes, preparation tips, and common definitions. Each page links to scope tables and policies.

Roof repairs & leak tracing

Targeted fault-finding and repairs for slipped tiles, flashing defects, punctures, and rain ingress; includes a written scope, photos where safe, and repair notes.

Flat roof maintenance (felt/EPDM)

Maintenance and remedial works for flat roofs: edge details, outlets, seams, and upstands; advice on condensation vs. water ingress and safe access planning.

Gutters, fascias & roofline works

Cleaning, minor repairs, joint resealing and alignment checks for gutters and downpipes; roofline inspection for soffits/fascias with practical recommendations.

Tools-first: use this site like a checklist

Roofing quotes vary because access, height, materials, and defect type vary. We publish our assumptions so you can send the right details and avoid surprises.

  1. 1
    Choose a service
Match symptoms to likely causes and typical fixes.
  2. 2
    Check what’s included
Know what a standard visit covers and what needs extra approval.
  3. 3
    Review assessment factors
Height, pitch, access, material type, and internal signs.
  4. 4
    Send your enquiry with photos
Include address/postcode, timings, and safe internal images.

Written scopes

We aim to document what we saw (where safe), what we propose, and any assumptions. See scope conventions and variation handling.

Timing & access

Many delays come from access constraints or weather windows. Use the access policy and weather guidance for planning.

Glossary & definitions

Prefer plain language? We keep a compact glossary so terms like “flashing”, “upstand”, and “outlet” are clear. If implemented, see services glossary.

Support & contact

You can contact us by phone or email, but the fastest is the enquiry form with photos and access notes. See contact form and photo tips.

What’s included vs. not included (excerpt)

This is a short excerpt. For the full table and examples, see Pricing → Included / Not included.

Full table →
Included (typical) Not included (unless agreed)
Visual inspection from safe points; internal checks where accessible Unsafe roof access or fragile roofs without appropriate access equipment
Minor repairs aligned to the agreed scope (e.g., reseal a joint, replace a limited number of fixings) Full reroofing, structural carpentry, or extensive decking replacement
Work notes and photos where safe/possible Decorating, plaster repairs, mould remediation (refer to specialists)

Assessment factors (excerpt)

Used to quote fairly and plan safe access. For full explanations, see Pricing → Assessment factors.

Full list →
Factor Why it matters
Height & pitch Affects ladder/scaffold needs, time on site, and safe working limits.
Roof type & material Different failure modes: tiles, slate, felt, EPDM, GRP details.
Access constraints Parking, alleyways, conservatories, fragile extensions, neighbour proximity.
Symptoms timeline “Only in wind-driven rain” vs. “constant damp” changes diagnosis priorities.

Quick answers that link to definitions and policies. For the full FAQ and glossary, see services FAQ and glossary.

Full FAQ
What do you mean by “leak tracing”?
It’s targeted diagnostics to find the likely entry point(s) for water, which may be different from where the stain appears internally. See leak tracing and the definitions.
Can you fix a leak on the first visit?
Sometimes—when access is safe, the defect is visible, and materials are standard. If the cause is hidden or access requires scaffolding, we’ll provide a written scope first. Check included/not included and access policy.
What’s an “upstand” on a flat roof?
An upstand is the vertical section where the waterproofing turns up against a wall, kerb, or rooflight. It’s a common leak point if detailing fails. See definitions and flat roof maintenance.
Do you do full reroofs?
We prioritise repairs and maintenance. If inspection shows widespread failure, we’ll explain options and point you to the right scope. See scope format and variations.
